August 2018 — FTC Solar’s tracker business unit is pleased to announce that it is now ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified.  ISO 9001 is an international standard that defines requirements for establishing a Quality Management System (QMS).  ISO 14001:2015 helps organizations identify and control environmental impact, minimize any negative affects operations may have on the environment, and manage compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

FTC Solar launches SunDAT Essential and releases a license model specific to the India market

Advanced solar design and optimization software for SketchUp

CHENNAI, India, Feb. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — FTC Solar, Inc. announced the launch of a new version of SunDAT for the India solar market called SunDAT Essential. The new version of the software aims to put the power of SunDAT, a 3D solar design automation and optimization platform, in the hands of all India-based solar designers and engineers. SunDAT can now be purchased in three subscription formats, Essential, Standard and Pro, each with a subscription model structured specifically for the India market.

SunDAT Essential enables users to quickly optimize solar designs for rooftops, ground mounts and canopy systems. SunDAT’s layout algorithm iterates through multiple design scenarios using a 3D model of the project site in SketchUp. The Essential version of SunDAT limits models to a 1MW DC system size, however the Standard and Pro versions have no system size limits.

FTC Solar releases Automated DC Electrical Design

FTC Solar, Inc. announced the availability of DC Electrical design capabilities for ground mount systems in the V3.2 release of its proprietary SunDAT Solar Design Automation software solution. SunDAT V3.2 contains no system size limitations and delivers highly accurate designs from small residential systems to multi-hundred MW Single Axis tracker utility-scale projects.

The new DC Electrical design capabilities allow the user to create DC equipment hierarchies, auto-place combiners and inverters in 3D, and watch while SunDAT generates a wire schedule in real-time! SunDAT now allows the designer to create electrically complete blocks centered around one or more inverters in the solar array.

The new V3 user interface delivers an intuitive experience with an advanced feature set simplifying solar design and produces multiple design iterations for comparison and evaluation. With energy modeling powered by NREL SAM, production estimates can be compared side by side for multiple layout options.

SunDAT V3 significantly improves the speed and accuracy of large scale solar design. All modeling is done inside the Sketchup 3D environment. Shading analysis coupled with 3D terrain-following allows users to see the impact of terrain on energy production.
