POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Lean Construction Specialist to support and lead lean construction initiatives across our single-axis tracker construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience implementing lean principles in the construction industry and a deep understanding of solar plant construction processes. This role will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, driving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring our trackers are installed quickly and safely on our customers’ sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with project teams to identify areas for improvement in construction processes and workflows.
  • Lead the development and implementation of lean construction strategies and methodologies to optimize project delivery.
  • Approach waste-cutting using a holistic view of the construction process that includes part delivery, sorting, staging, access, and methodology while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Provide guidance and training to project teams on lean principles and tools.
  • Conduct regular on-site assessments and audits to identify waste and inefficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Analyze project data and performance metrics to track progress and measure the effectiveness of lean initiatives.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure lean principles are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and Kaizen events to drive innovation and process enhancements.
  • Lead the development, documentation and maintenance of standard work procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor industry trends and stay up to date with the latest advancements in lean construction methodologies.

Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on lean construction principles.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing lean methodologies in construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of solar plant construction processes and associated challenges.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Frequent travel to project sites to review existing processes and train on-site personnel to adopt lean methods.
